Manchester United’s transfer policy under INEOS is vastly different from that of the Glazers, with an emphasis on recruiting young stars.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe had made his stance crystal clear and this was clearly evidenced from the fact that the Red Devils landed five players, all below 26, while significantly strengthening their academy at the same time.
Scoring goals proved to be a major problem for the Old Trafford side last season with Erik ten Hag forced to rely heavily on Rasmus Hojlund even though he needed time to adapt to his new surroundings.
This term, Joshua Zirkzee was brought in to add firepower upfront, but the club’s struggles to score have continued with the Dutchman guilty of spurning glorious chances in the last two games while impressing with his all-round play.
Goals needed
To fix this issue, Fichajes have claimed the 20-time English league champions are eyeing Borussia Dortmund’s Karim Adeyemi who has started the new Bundesliga campaign in red-hot form.
The 22-year-old has already netted twice and registered as many assists from three starts across all competitions.
He can play up top on his own and on both flanks, with versatility a highly valued asset under Ten Hag. His age makes him an attractive prospect for the club’s new co-owners.
Not only United but arch-rivals Liverpool and Newcastle are also plotting a move for the Germany U21 international who wants to leave the Bundesliga giants in search of a club that can regularly fight for trophies.
“Karim Adeyemi’s future looks increasingly far from Borussia Dortmund, as three Premier League giants are determined to secure the talented German striker’s services.
Adeyemi being eyed
“Manchester United , Liverpool and Newcastle United have all shown strong interest in the young attacker, who has shone in the Bundesliga and has attracted interest from several European clubs.
“Borussia Dortmund know that retaining their star player will not be easy, and although the club will try to keep him, the pressure of the Premier League could end up tipping the balance in favour of one of these three English giants.”
He is left-footed, a profile Ten Hag really likes and with Antony’s future far from secure, a move for Adeyemi makes a lot of sense.
His current market value stands at €28 million as per Transfermarkt with United likely to need more to secure one of Europe’s hottest properties.
