United change their transfer stance before deadline day as European giants prepare €13m offer – report

Manchester United’s desire to resolve Jadon Sancho’s future before the end of the summer transfer window has led them to change their negotiation stance, as per reports.

United included Sancho in their first-team fold upon his return from a promising loan stint with Borussia Dortmund. However, they have been open to listening to suitable offers for the winger all summer.

The Red Devils reportedly slapped a £40m price-tag on the 24-year-old Englishman, but no suitor has shown any desire to come near that asking price so far.

Ahead of Friday’s deadline, Fabrizio Romano reported that Chelsea and Juventus are chasing Sancho, with United insisting on a loan deal with the obligation to buy.

However, on Thursday morning, Gazzetta dello Sport (via GIFN) came up with a report claiming the Premier League giants are now prepared to let the England international leave Old Trafford on a loan with the option to buy.

The Italian newspaper adds United have already turned down Juve’s initial proposal. The Old Lady offered to pay a quarter of Sancho’s wages (about €5 million) and a fee for a straight loan deal.

Despite this hiccup in negotiations, United have softened their stance, agreeing to cover a part of his salary as well as accept a loan move with an option to buy.

Juventus are prepared to “soon” make a new offer and test the Mancunian giants’ resolve again.

It is believed Thiago Motta’s side should be able to cover 40 per cent of Sancho’s salary, a five per cent bonus, and a loan fee—taking the total package to about €13 million.

Recently, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming Sancho is ‘holding out’ for Chelsea.

The Blues have shown willingness to swap out-of-favour forward Raheem Sterling for the young winger. However, the Italian outlet suggests United are against the possibility of swap deals, seemingly handing Juventus an advantage in the race.

Further, the impending sale of Federico Chiesa to Liverpool is likely to only strengthen the Serie A side’s pursuit.
