Manchester United co-owner Avram Glazer is set to be present for the club’s Premier League opener against Fulham at Old Trafford.
United are set to kickstart their 2024/25 Premier League campaign tonight and according to Simon Stone of the BBC, the hierarchy will be represented by Avram.
Stone wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “Told Sir Jim Ratcliffe won’t be at Old Trafford tonight but Avie Glazer will be present.”

Since their leveraged buy-out of the club in 2005, the Glazers have been extremely unpopular owners within the fanbase.
They’ve often found themselves at the end of intense criticism for their poor running of United. Some of their actions such as neglecting Old Trafford and taking dividends from the club, have over the years led to protests and boycotts of matches.
However, earlier this year, the Glazers agreed terms with Ratcliffe over a 27.7% partial investment that essentially made the INEOS billionaire a minority owner.
Since then, the Red Devils have undergone some massive improvements. As part of the Glazers’ deal with Ratcliffe, the American family ceded control of United’s football operations to the British businessman.
Already, there are plans in place for either a refurbishment of Old Trafford or the building of a completely new state-of-the-art arena.
In the current window, United have also moved faster than is usually the case. The club have so far brought in Leny Yoro from Lille, Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna, Noussair Mazraoui and Matthijs de Ligt. Mazraoui and De Ligt were both acquired from Bayern Munich.
Erik ten Hag included Mazraoui in his starting XI to face Fulham. De Ligt and Zirkzee were named on the bench and are likely to come on as substitutes if need be.
Leny Yoro sustained an injury during pre-season and is currently recovering from an injury expected to rule him out of action for a number of weeks.
Despite the current positives at United, I think it’s safe to say that Avram Glazer and his siblings will be receiving any credit for the turnaround.
United vs. Fulham kicks off at 20:00 BST.
