“Huge moment”: United forward feels this backroom addition could take his game to the next level – report

Despite taking 15 shots, Manchester United failed to score a goal and had to return from Selhurst Park with only a point to show for their efforts.

The visitors created chances galore but Alejandro Garnacho, Bruno Fernandes and Joshua Zirkzee were guilty of spurning gilt-edged opportunities with former United star Dean Henderson enjoying one of his best days in Crystal Palace’s goal.

Despite scoring 10 goals in the previous two encounters, the Red Devils have missed the most big chances among all the English top-flight sides and currently lie 11th after five games.

After struggling to find the back of the net last season, INEOS decided to bring in Zirkzee from Bologna and while the Netherlands ace is an extremely intelligent footballer, he seems to lack the cutting edge upfront.

Goals keep eluding United

With Rasmus Hojlund finally fit, the onus will be on the Dane to help find the back of the net with Erik ten Hag’s future once again the topic of discussion among the media.

The 21-year-old had a slow start to his United career but still ended up as top-scorer and impressed in spurts but the manager’s over-reliance did not do him any favours.

A pre-season injury sustained against Arsenal meant the former Atalanta ace has been left waiting for his first start of the new term.

And the striker is excited to work with assistant manager Ruud van Nistelrooy and believes the Dutchman can take his game to the next level as per Givemesport.

RvN could hold the key for Rasmus

The former United striker was known for his ruthlessness in front of goal, something the current forwards lack and Hojlund, Zirkzee and Rashford will benefit immensely from his experience.

“Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund has told friends Ruud van Nistelrooy’s arrival is a huge moment in the development of his career at the club, GIVEMESPORT sources have learned.

“The Danish starlet has enjoyed a promising debut year in Manchester, and it appears that a new addition to the dugout may well turn out to be crucial for his progress in the Premier League.”

It will be interesting to see how Ten Hag lines up when Hojlund is fully fit. The Denmark international is much more of a traditional No 9 while Zirkzee is a nine-and-a-half as he himself said.
