Manchester United will receive a fee of £20 million guaranteed, rising up to £25 million in add-ons based on performances, from Chelsea next summer for Jadon Sancho, after an initial loan deal was agreed.
The future of Sancho dominated the last few weeks of the transfer window but in the dying embers of the window, a resolution was found.
After being linked regularly to European sides Borussia Dortmund and Juventus, the winger finally completed a move to Chelsea.
It was revealed earlier this week that West London was the player’s preferred destination and the Blues were far more willing to meet United’s demands than Juventus were.
It was announced late last night that United had agreed a deal for Sancho to move on loan with an obligation to buy next summer and the Red Devils would not need to take a player in exchange from the Stamford Bridge side as previously suggested.
Fabrizio Romano has provided further details on the move this morning by reporting that the fee will be £20 million guaranteed, with an extra £5 million in add-ons based on performances.
Interestingly, the loan with obligation to buy is guaranteed, formally if Chelsea finish among the first 14 positions in the Premier League table. Despite the Blues’ recent woes, it seems improbable they won’t at least manage this, making it quite an achievable condition.
Jadon Sancho, Chelsea and Man Utd signed all docs in time as deal is 100% done.

The Athletic add that Chelsea had until 1am to seal a deal after handing in a deal sheet before the 11pm deadline.
They also note that he will not be registered in time to face Crystal Palace on Sunday.
Whilst the Red Devils would probably have preferred to send Sancho to a club outside of the Premier League, the permanent sale of the player next season must be seen as a win.
The winger proved to be a disappointment during his three seasons at Old Trafford and in reality never got close to fulfilling the wonderful potential he showed in a Dortmund shirt.
Ineos and Erik ten Hag will be content that the distraction of the player’s future no longer lurks around the corridors of Old Trafford, despite the potential embarrassment of the winger finding his form at Chelsea.
