Manchester United looked lethargic and were made to pay as FC Twente grabbed a historic point from their Europa League encounter on Wednesday.
Despite needing a win, the team looked like they were happy to just keep the ball and lacked any real momentum with Erik ten Hag’s choice of substitutions also coming in for criticism.
Apart from the combined 10 goals scored against relegation candidates Southampton and League One Barnsley, the Red Devils have struggled to find the net, a recurrent issue from last season.
And despite proven goalscorers being linked with a move to Old Trafford, INEOS are eyeing young gems as part of their philosophy and the latest name comes courtesy Fotboll Skanalen.
Toure, a man in demand
They have claimed the 20-time English league champions are scouting Bazoumana Touré of Hammarby with the winger already scoring six goals at the age of 18.
The report mentions that United along with Arsenal are confirmed to be in attendance for Hammarby’s encounter against Häcken.
“The Fotboll Skanalen learns that Premier League clubs such as Manchester United, Arsenal, Wolverhampton and Brighton have registered scouts for Thursday’s meeting at Tele2 Arena. Bundesliga teams Leverkusen and Wolfsburg have also announced that they will be there.”
The Ivory Coast U20 international is also being watched by a whole host of top European sides and the club are already preparing for a future without him despite the player only joining at the start of 2024.
Scouts to watch him closely
Sporting director Mikael Hjelmberg said, “We need to plan for a future without him. Then if it happens (a deal) this winter, next summer or even further than that, I don’t think so in and of itself… we’ll see. But the longer we get to keep him the better.”
Touré has a contract with the Swedish club until 2028 and is currently valued at €6 million according to Transfermarkt, a value that will only go up as the player keeps netting the goals.
Left-footed winger is a profile that greatly excites Ten Hag and with Antony’s future far from secure, a move for a future star makes a lot of sense.
INEOS have shown an eye for uncut diamonds when they signed Sekou Kone in the summer and he has already been tipped to make his senior debut this campaign and a move for Touré could also materialise in the future.
